NEW BACKSTOP IS IN!!!!!

Well, it's finally here. After many months we have finally received the visit we were looking for D5 Ranges from just outside of Chicago, Illinios. They made the long trek with backstop in tow and when they were finished, made our Range a little bit better and a lot safer. According to the installers, thie backstop reduces lead-dust exposure inside the Range by 85-90%. This happens because , unlike our steel backstop, the new granulated rubber backstop encapsulates the lead projectile rather than pulverizing it against steel and creating lots of dust in the air. And it's practically maintenance-free. After 80,000 rounds (at each point), the rubber is sifted, the lead is removed and the backstop is rebuilt. The cost? The lead they mine. Since we have to find a way to keep track of how many rounds at each point, we will ask our Members to tell us what point they shot at and approximately how many rounds they shot. This will be recorded in the sign-in/sign-out book. Thanks everyone for their patience, as our install date has been postponed a few times and our construction days added up. Most importantly, we would like to thank Range Master Russell Lerch for his genius work not only engineering a new Target Carrier system, but installing them in lightning speed. NEW ID CARD UPGRADE FEE

Hello,

Please be advised that as of August 1st, there will be a $40 ID card upgrade fee for any Member that receives their NRA Range Officer certification by means of a non- Glen Cove PBA Pistol and Rifle Association sponsored course. This fee will be included in the price of the course taken at the Range and no other fees will apply. Please click the above "Training" tab for upcoming courses.

Every dollar spent gets invested back into Range improvements.

We have finally done it. We are now able to offer ammunition for your convenience, no waiting. Sign in to the website, go to the store and order your 9mm ammo. It will be there waiting for you before your next visit to the Range. More caliber options to come. Ammo sales are for members only and is limited to 5 boxes per day.

Leaving The Range Reminder

Just a reminder to any Member who is the last to leave the Range. Please remember to turn off lights, fans and set the thermostat back to 60 degrees. We are finding that Members are leaving some of these things on, sometimes overnight. Our electric bill is our biggest expense. In order to keep Range dues from rising, we ask everyone to make their best effort to remember to shut everything off upon leaving.

Hello All,

Thanks for all the great nostalgic photos sent. We asked and you guys came through in epic fashion. Keep 'em coming. We are looking to pump up our photo and video content on our Instagram page and have a new request. We want photos and videos of our Members enjoying the the current range. We want to create a "then and now" type of thing. If you don't necessarily want to be seen on Instagram, we understand. But for those of you that want to show off some shooting skills, let's see what you got...

NEW MEMBER ORIENTATIONS MONDAY NIGHTS 7P - 8P

To our newest Members, we welcome you. Before you receive your Member ID card and Key Card, you will need to complete the New Member Orientation. Orientations will occur every Monday night from 7P - 8P. The Orientation will consist of a walk-through of the premise as well as a short firearms qualification. You will need to bring a firearm, at least 10 rounds of ammo, as well as eye and ear protection. The orientation will include (2) short rounds of gunfire and a reload. Don't worry, we are not looking for (but appreciate) nickel-sized groupings. We just want to see that you are proficient enough with handling your firearm safely in a range setting. Don't be afraid to ask our In-House Range Officers for assistance.

The Glen Cove PBA Pistol and Rifle Association is proud to offer 2 courses open to our Members and Non-Members -

Utah Concealed Carry Permit (February 4, 2025 9A) - This course allows you to obtain a Utah concealed carry license, which gives you a concealed carry license in 30+ other states

NRA Range Safety Officer (February 11, 2025 9A) - This course teaches roles, responsibilities and procedures of Range Safety

NYS Concealed Carry Permit (February 24-26, 2025 9A) - This course is necessary to obtain your NYS Concealed Carry License

The price for Utah Concealed Carry is $250 for Members, $275 for Non-Members. Non-Members will receive $25 off an annual membership upon course completion

The price for Range Safety Officer is $200 for Members, $225 for Non-Members. Non-Members will receive $25 off an annual membership upon course completion

The price for NYS Concealed Carry is $500 for Members, $525 for Non-Members. Non-Members will receive $25 off an annual membership upon course completion
